4 tips for dealing with Chinese suppliers of display props

1. Call or video your Chinese supplier to confirm that it is a real one.

2. Produce samples for confirmation before mass production. When looking for a new supplier, you can place multiple sample orders to different suppliers and choose the one that suits you best after receiving the samples.

3. You can bargain appropriately, but don't undercut the price; different products at different prices are of different quality. If the price is too low, there is no guarantee that the supplier will choose worse raw materials to provide poor quality products.

4. If possible, look for your supplier's other customers and ask what the quality is like.

How to work with display prop suppliers in China?

1. Find a supplier

2. Obtain quotations and samples

Send the project to the supplier you have found and sign a confidentiality agreement if necessary. Once you have obtained a quote, if the price is right, start making samples.

This step is very important in the custom display industry to test the fit with the supplier and to understand the quality of production.

3. Negotiate the price

In the custom display industry, it is OK to negotiate prices, and we should negotiate prices for everything we buy. But it can't cut the price too much, because there are different grades of materials used to make display stands, it's hard to tell if the supplier will use cheap and bad quality materials after promising a low price.

Negotiation of prices includes negotiation of payment methods, different payment methods have different risks for both buyers and sellers and can use harsh payment terms for yourselves in exchange for lower prices from suppliers

4. Waiting for mass production

As this is a bespoke product, there will inevitably be unforeseen circumstances during mass production and it becomes extremely important to have a responsible supplier during this process. After all, you can't immediately fly to a factory overseas to check on the situation.

Keep an eye on production schedules, which can have a direct impact on delivery times. Penalty clauses can be written into the contract to reduce the damage caused to you by supplier delays.

5. Receiving the product

If you have enough time (3 to 4 months) you can choose the cheaper option of shipping by sea. However, if you have limited time, you should choose a quicker way of shipping by air. We will explain the different logistics methods in detail in a separate article.

Once you have received the product, you need to check the product to see if it meets the standards you require, and if it does not, you can make a reasonable claim. Of course, most suppliers who have finished collecting payment will not pay out directly unless the product is rotten as shit and they will offer a discount on the next order, and in fact, whether there is still a next order for him to make, who knows?
