Frequently Asked Questions

Do you provide pop-up shop design services? +

No. Samtop is not positioned as a creative pop-up shop design agency. The original concept, layout, and visual direction are usually provided by the brand, VM team, creative agency, or retail design studio. Our role starts after the concept is approved. We help review production feasibility, structure, materials, finishes, packing, and export preparation so the approved design can become real display elements.

Do you provide overseas installation? +

No, we do not provide overseas on-site installation directly. For international pop-up shop projects, installation is usually handled by the client's local contractor, store team, or event setup team. Samtop focuses on production, trial assembly when needed, packing preparation, part numbering, and assembly references to help the local team install the display elements more smoothly.

Can you help with overseas installation preparation? +

Yes. Although we do not install overseas, we can prepare the display elements for easier local setup. This may include trial assembly, part numbering, separated hardware bags, packing photos, assembly references, and simple setup guidance. For temporary retail campaigns with short overnight installation windows, these small details can help reduce confusion and save time on site.

Can you work from 3D renderings, sketches, or reference photos? +

Yes. Projects can start from 3D renderings, CAD drawings, sketches, reference photos, product images, VM guidelines, or campaign briefs. Complete technical drawings are helpful, but they are not always required at the beginning. We can first review the design direction, structure, materials, size, quantity, and possible production method based on the information you already have.

Can you produce one-off or small-batch production? +

Yes. Many pop-up shop display projects are one-off or small-batch because they are made for product launches, holiday campaigns, mall activations, travel retail promotions, or temporary retail events. For complex structures or premium finishes, we may suggest a prototype, material sample, or finish sample first, so the main production can move forward with fewer risks.

Can you support urgent launch deadlines? +

Yes, we can review urgent projects, but the feasibility depends on design complexity, material choice, quantity, finish requirements, packing method, and shipping destination. For tight launch schedules, we usually check which parts can be simplified, which materials are faster to produce, and whether air shipment is needed. Sharing the launch date early helps us judge the timeline more realistically.

How do you control color and finish consistency? +

We usually control color and finish through Pantone references, material samples, finish samples, lighting checks, and client approval before full production. Different materials such as MDF, acrylic, metal, resin, fiberglass, printed graphics, and LED lighting can show the same color differently. We check these differences during development to keep the final retail presentation visually consistent.

What information helps you quote faster? +

Renderings, drawings, sketches, reference photos, dimensions, quantity, material preferences, finish requirements, delivery destination, and launch date all help us quote faster. If the project includes lighting, oversized props, modular structures, or special packing needs, please share those details too. You do not need a complete technical package to start; send what you have, and we can review from there.

How We Handle Custom Pop-up Shop Display Production

Understanding the journey from approved concept to installed display

Most custom pop-up shop production projects start long before the launch date. Brands and agencies often begin planning almost one year ahead, based on an annual theme, product launch plan, holiday campaign, or retail promotion. When the project comes to Samtop, the main concept is usually already approved. The design direction, brand mood, key display elements, colors, lighting direction, and basic visual details are already clear.

Our role is not to redesign the pop-up shop. Our job is to verify the approved concept and manufacture it, making sure it can become real display elements. Before production starts, we review the structure, material direction, surface finish, lighting details, wiring, color temperature, Pantone colors, packing limits, shipping conditions, and local installation requirements.

From Approved Rendering to Real Production

A rendering shows the final feeling of the space: color, mood, lighting, layout, product focus, customer flow, and campaign style. During production, we do not only look at the same rendering from the outside. Our main focus is how the internal structure can support all the creative design details.

We need to check and analyze the support structure, fixing method, wiring route, panel breakdown, and installation logic. How should the surface finish be achieved? How will the logo signage be fixed? Should the back wall be split into several panels? Should the prop be hollow or solid? If there is lighting, where should the wires, power supply, and access panel be placed?

Breaking One Pop-up Shop into Real Production Parts

A complete pop-up shop space usually needs to be divided into different production parts, because different visual elements often require different processes, materials, and production teams. Display counters, branded back walls, logo signage, acrylic shelves, light boxes, product podiums, graphic panels, decorative props, and hanging elements may all require different processes.

A display counter may involve MDF, metal support, acrylic edging, painting, hardware, and LED lighting. A logo sign may involve acrylic, metal letters, neon, silk screen printing, printed graphics, crystal letters, and other processes. A back wall may need a wooden structure, printed graphics, hidden connectors, and clean panel seams after installation.

A Perfume Bottle Prop Is Not Just "One Bottle"

For example, many perfume pop-up shops projects need some oversized perfume bottle props or hero product display. On the rendering, it may look like one enlarged bottle: nice shape, transparent body, metallic cap, and a logo on the front. It looks simple, but in real production, the bottle body can be made by 3D printing, acrylic fabrication, fiberglass molding, blow molding, thick vacuum forming, or other processes.

The right method depends on size, transparency, surface requirement, budget, and quantity. After the shape is made, surface finishing becomes another important part. The bottle body may need spray painting, polishing, gradient color, or a translucent coating. The cap may need electroplating, vacuum plating, metallic paint, or a separate acrylic part with a metal-like finish.

Material Choice Is Not a Fixed Formula

Clients often ask, "What material is best?" In real projects, we usually do not start with one fixed material. We first look at the size, viewing distance, surface finish, weight, quantity, budget, lead time, and installation method.

For large props, fiberglass is often useful. It can create volume without becoming too heavy, so it works well for giant bottles, sculptures, window props, and themed installations. For small detailed parts, resin may work better. It gives a solid, sculptural feeling and can show fine details well. For transparent parts, illuminated logos, display covers, shelves, and light diffusion, acrylic is usually a good option.

Making Different Parts Feel Like One Campaign

A pop-up shop may include painted MDF, acrylic, resin, foam, metal, printed graphics, LED lighting, mirror effects, leather texture, or electroplated parts. When these materials are placed together, the same Pantone color may look slightly different on different surfaces.

Production testing and experience are needed here. Sometimes the Pantone number is correct, but the final visual feeling is still not right. That is why sample approval, surface checking, and material coordination are needed.

Preparing for Overseas Rollout

For European and American clients, one of the biggest concerns is whether the products will be damaged during export, how they should be packed, and whether local installation will go smoothly. Acrylic parts need protection from scratches. Painted parts need protection from pressure marks. Fiberglass props may need custom wooden crates.

Many pop-up shops are installed at night. Sometimes the local team only has a few hours before the store opens the next day or before the campaign starts. If they open ten cartons and cannot find the correct screws, or if two wall panels look almost the same but have no number, time can be wasted very quickly.

Samtop does not provide overseas on-site installation directly, but we prepare the display elements to make local installation easier: trial assembly when needed, part numbering, packing photos, and installation references. For international retail campaigns, this is not extra decoration. It is risk control.

Final Thought

Custom pop-up shop display production is full of small decisions that affect cost, timing, finish, shipping, and installation. If you already have a pop-up shop rendering, technical drawing, or display element reference, Samtop can help review the production method, material direction, structure, surface finish, packing plan, and export preparation before the project officially moves into production.
